Origanum Heracleoticum is a Greek oregano growing in Greece and throughout the Balkans. Greek oregano blooms with white flowers and when chewed fresh it can cause numbness of the tip of the tongue. It has delicate and spicy aroma, and a bitter, strong and tart taste.

Greek oregano is a typical spice of Mediterranean cuisine. Everyone knows Italian pizza, for which oregano is an integral seasoning. Also, oregano is a wonderful seasoning for vegetables and dishes of fried, stewed, baked meat, pasta and spaghetti, as well as in tomato sauces for these dishes.
